Hi there!

I am Tara Altena, and TaAl Translations is me (Tara Altena Translations, “Taal” is Dutch for “Language”). After high school, I was, as many of us are, unsure of what I wanted from life, and debated between studying English and Criminology. My decision landed on Criminology, as I had to partake in a test, in which I scored really well. “This must be a sign”, I thought. However, during my studies, I realised I missed playing with language, and so during my Masters, I switched over to ‘Communication and Information Studies: Translation’.

This is where I discovered my passion and love of solving the puzzle of taking a text and changing the words to a different language. Thanks to my education, experience and hobby’s, I am able to correctly and effectively translate a variety of texts, from legal to marketing and from software to board games. However, even if a text is something completely new to me, I will gladly take on the challenge. I love diving into a new topic through translation and discovering words and vocabulary that I’ve never heard of before.
